The Cycling Salamander Gallery is located a few miles south of Charlevoix on US-31. Look for the big yellow "ART" sign!

I have a new studio space on Mitchell Street in downtown Petoskey. It's located inside of Mitchell Street Suites along with several other offices. Tonight is the grand opening for the Suites. Join us from 5-7 pm for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. 

My work is not the main event but you can see several of my newer works for sale on the lobby walls. 

Also, if you're interested in a commission for the holidays now is the time to start thinking about it! I know it seems early but commissions fill up quick! Today is the opening of my show at the Cycling Salamander in Charlevoix! 

On Saturday I went out there to drop off more work and do a little plein air painting. Above are the photos of my setup and one of the finished pieces I did (that will be for sale shortly at the gallery). It's such a beautiful place to be and the scenes to paint are endless! I was glad I got to spend the afternoon outside there. 

This weekend I'm also having an open house in the lobby of the building where I have my studio. It's located on Mitchell Street in Petoskey, next to the Grand Traverse Pie Co. I'll be there Friday and Saturday displaying work and painting. Stop by and see me!

Today I'm dropping off new work at the Cycling Salamander Gallery in Charlevoix. My show there opens on Monday and runs through September 7th. The opening reception is Friday, August 30th from 4-6pm, everyone is welcome! 

In addition to dropping off work I'll also be out in the gardens painting all day. So if you're in the area you should swing by and see us! 

My show at Northgoods in Petoskey runs through the end of the week so if you haven't been in to see the Art In The Loft yet you should!

Whew! I feel like I've been going non stop between galleries this summer! It's a good thing though!

Today I'm making my way to Mackinac Island to drop off more work at Mackinac's Little Gallery. I have several new paintings that should be on their walls soon and some packs of Mackinac Island themed cards. It's the best gallery on the Island and they always have something neat to see!

Howl At The Moon

An event that is important to me takes place on August 22nd from 6-9 pm at the Harbor Springs airport. It's called "Howl At The Moon" and all the proceeds from this event go to support the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society. 

Animals have always had a special place in my heart. Finding a pet is much like falling in love. When you meet there's a spark. Then you grow attached to them and soon you can't imagine your life without them. They become part of the family. 

Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is a no-kill shelter and is a wonderful facility. In support I have donated the above painting "Watching The World Float By" to help them keep finding loving homes for pets. It will be part of the silent auction on August 22nd.

When you visit Petoskey you'll probably find several people walking the beaches looking for a Petoskey Stone. It's a popular past time here and it's always a thrill to find one of your very own. I've found a few in my lifetime and I have some of them sitting on the desk where I paint. It's a nice reminder of summer when the winter snow seems to stay forever. 

Today is the Plein Air Paint Out in Glen Arbor! Dozens of artists are crawling all over Leelanau County looking for that perfect scene to paint! Come out and see what we accomplished this afternoon at the wet painting sale tonight! It's from 5:30-7:30 at the Glen Arbor Art Association. 

Also, I'm teaching a beginner's watercolor class on Wednesday, August 14th. It's a morning class as I've had a few people want to take it but they couldn't do the afternoon. It's at the Cycling Salamander in Charlevoix from 9:30 am-12. If you'd like to join us contact the gallery at 231-838-6460. Cost is $50/person. All materials are provided so you don't have to do anything but show up! 

Wedding By The Bay

A glorious day on the bay for a wedding. The sky is bright, the clouds are puffy, the sun is shining and the bride looks absolutely fabulous as she walks down the aisle. 

Wedding commissions are a wonderful idea as a unique gift for the happy newlyweds. I can work from photos that you have taken or I can attend the event and take my own. Then, I'll work closely with you to get everything just right.
