Complete

Since I've been posting, I've shown you works in progress. Here are the finished pieces. After all was said and done I like the picture of my father hiking up the hill quite a bit. Of course, this one also has sentimental value on its side. I'll definitely have a hard time letting it go.
Sadly, I'm not too fond of the couple hiking. I think it may be the color I chose for the path that turned me off to the painting. Its a bit...red? The original plan was for leaves to have covered the path. I don't care for the way it turned out though. I guess thats what I get for working while sleepy. Lesson learned. Maybe a redo?

My sister is in town today and its gonna be a blast. We don't see each other much anymore as we live at opposite ends of the state. I wish it was nicer outside so we could go out and go for a walk but I have no doubt we'll find something fun to do. And hopefully get an updated picture of us as this one is about a year or two old...This picture is us standing under "The Bean" at Millennium Park in Chicago. It was one of the best trips ever. We saw Shrek the musical which, in my opinion, was a HUGE disappointment were it not for Lord Farqua who impressed me be dancing on his knees the whole show. We also had lunch at a fantastic little Greek restaurant, and we visited Millennium Park and sat by the fountains and watched artists paint expressive pictures of "The Bean." If I had had more money on me I'm quite certain I would have come home with one of those paintings.

  1. Sarah I do like the father painting .It is nice to catch these sweet memories.
I think the couple one is great. It looks like fall leaves. What about the sky? that looks maybe not finished. I like how the couple is walking -very realistic. Is this Taquamenon? I like you and your sister. Sister moments are precious. I like Chicago and spend a lot of time there because of our kids. I have often been at the bean -my favorite caroling place ever. I think you should paint your own.You could sell them right on the spot and have your own to keep. Would you ever want to go with me to Chicago if I need a friend to travel with?

  2. Mary- The sky in the father painting is a bit more blue than it appears here on the site. Bad reproduction I guess. I'd love to be your traveling companion to Chicago! Just holler!
